Today was another day full of manual labor. Since we did not finish digging all the trenches on our first day, we spent the day with sweat and shovels. We went back to Pueblo Nuevo, the community we visited the first day, and finished implanting the water channels to finish the healthy water project. After about 4 hours in 90degree weather, not an inch of my body was dry; mud, sweat, blood, and tears went into those trenches. The trenches were definitely a challenge but it was worth it to see the gratitude from the community. We even got to help them put up their community sign, giving the community existence to those outside of it. The community was so grateful for all our work they had an ending ceremony for our team. They taught us tribal dances, shared stories, and even made us special gifts. Out of all the days spent here, this was both the hardest day and greatest day. Yes, there was an abundance of internal complaining, but to see the difference we made for their community was well worth the sunburn.
